Dr.Roberto Dillon is the founder and CEO of Adsumsoft game design and consulting services. He holds a Masters and PhD degree in Electrical and Computer engineering from University of Genoa and is currently working as the Associate Professor in James Cook University, Singapore. He has taught various courses on game design like Game History and Game Mechanics in various renowned institutions including KTH in Stockholm, NTU and Digipen Institute of Technology in Singapore. A regular speaker at gaming conferences worldwide, Dr. Dillon is the author of 'On the Way to Fun' and 'The Golden Age of Video Games' published by AKPeters and CRC Press. The analysis methodology '6-11 Framework', introduced in 'On the Way to Fun' has been widely accepted, has been incorporated into the curriculum of several eminent universities and is used by prominent game designers in studios like EA and Ubisoft. His third book, 'HTML5 Game Development from the Ground Up with Construct 2', to be published by CRC Press, is underway.

Kazutaka Kurihara is a senior researcher of Media Interaction Group of Information Technology Research Institute at National Institute of Advanced Science and Technology (NIAST). He is the winner of the 2012 Ig Nobel Prize in acoustics, sponsored by the Annals of Improbable Research magazine. He and his partner, Koji Tsukada of Ochanomizu University won this award for developing the "Speech Jammer Gun", a gadget that is capable of silencingpeople from a distance of more than 30 meters. It operates on the principle of Delayed Auditory Feedback. By playing the targets' speech back to them at a delay of a few hundred milliseconds, this device painlessly "jams" their speech. This device finds application in speaking competitions to enforce time limits.

Dr. B. N. Jagtap is the head of the atomic and molecular division at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) in India and a professor at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and the Homi Bhabha National Institute, Mumbai . He is also the editor of a quarterly magazine, Indian Nuclear Society News.Cited as the "game changer" in a recent article in Livemint and The Wall Street Journal, his research includes a wide variety of interesting topics such as molecules of importance in astrophysics, atmospheric sciences, pre-biotic molecules (molecules that were formed before the molecules responsible for life on Earth) and ultra-cold atoms (atoms that are cooled close to temperatures near absolute zero).

Jeff Lieberman is a roboticist, technological sculptor, musician, photographer and host of the show 'Time Warp' on the Discovery Channel. He holds four degrees ( B.S in Physics and Mathematics and M.S in Mechanical Engineering and in Media Arts and Sciences with a focus in Robotics) and is currently pursuing his PhD in the Media Lab in the Robotic Life Group at MIT where he has headed the design on the Cyberflora installation (a robotic flower garden that senses and responds to people) and the Motor Learning Robotic Wearable Suit( a robotic suit that teaches motor skills). His design firm, Plebian Design has to its credit, notable projects like "The Absolut Quartret" (an interactive multi-instrumental robotic machine), and "Patterened by Nature" ( a sculptural ribbon 10 feet wide and 90 feet long) and other kinetic art sculptures.

V N Rajashekaran Pillai, Executive Vice President & Ex Officio Principal Secretary of KSCSTE is among the most cited scientists in the country. An active teacher and researcher in the field of Chemical Sciences, he has worked in various universities and organizations like CSIR, UGC and DST. He was the Vice Chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam. He has hosted several National and International discussions and meetings including Indian Academy of Sciences Annual Meeting and Vice Chancellors Conference. V N Rajashekaran Pillai is an elected Fellow of the Indian Academy of Sciences and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, Bangalore. He was a Member of the Working Groups for the10th Plan vision and also for the preparation of Indian Science Policy Document for UNESCO. He is a recipient of Materials Research Society of India Lecture Award(1997).

Wg Cdr Raveendran has worked in the Indian Air Force, Defence R&D Organization and the ADA in various capacities. He was Group Director (Flight Test) of the Light Combat Aircraft- Tejas program and at present he is Scientist Emeritus at the National Flight Test Centre, ADA. He is recipient of the National Gallantry Award ‘Shaurya Chakra’ and Indigenization of Aeronautical Equipment Award.
Sri C.V.Venugopalan has vast experience in the design and development of test stands and was Head of the Department, Ground Test Centre (RWR&DC) at Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. Presently , he is working at QuEST Global Engineering Services, Bangalore as a Consultant in Aeronautical and related domains.
P.V Mustafa graduated from NITC in 1970 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering as a University Gold Medalist. The main areas of his work include Design and Development of Aero Engines and Accessories, Design and turnkey installation of Aero Engine and accessories test beds. He retired from HAL as General Manager in 2008 and is presently working with Honeywell.
Participants must possess a confirmed Tathva ID to participate in any event, attend workshop or to avail accommodation. The online registered Tathva ID should be confirmed at the registration desk for the same. Participants should bring a valid college ID as the proof for identity. All the events for which the participant has registered online will be confirmed once the registration procedure is completed. On the spot registration for Tathva ID as well as Events will be provided at the registration desk. Once registered, a participant can take part in any event or free workshop at Tathva. Gaming events registration fees will be separate, and only those with a valid Tathva ID will be able to participate in that. Workshop participants can use their IDs to attend any event at Tathva. Prizes and certificates will be given during de-registration of the participant. For team events, prizes will be handed over to the EVENT TEAM CAPTAIN.

NIT Calicut being a national institute, we have had participants coming in from all over the nation for tathva since its inception in 2001 and we have tried our best to ensure that their brief interlude with our campus was as pleasant as can be. This year too we aim to live up to our reputation and make your stay a comfortable one.Our entire hospitality team is ready to assist you in matters concerning accomodation, registration and partcipation.
A sum of Rs 50 has to be paid at the registration desk as cautionary deposit. Receipt of the payment so obtained should be produced at Hospitality desk. Utilities will be provided for groups of 3 or 4(try and come in groups,it will make our job quicker and easier). One of the participants from a group visiting our college has to come forward and be the team hospitality captain. The team event captain and the hospitality captain need not be the same person. All the required utilities for stay for the entire group will be handed over to the respective team captain. Team captain (Hospitality) should return all the utilities provided to his group during de-registration. If the team captain leaves before the other team members another person has to step in.If that happens please do inform us.
How is the accomodation facilty provided?
Accomodation along with utilities will be provided in the hostels for both girls and boys.
What are the prizes?
The prize money for the events will be as mentioned in the site. It will not be subject to any changes.
How do we register for the workshops?
Tathva '13 has many interesting workshops on offer. Those interested in attending these workshops can register online and pay the required sum of money at the registration desk.
The nearest railway station is Kozhikode/Calicut(CLT). Direct trains are available to Calicut from major cities in India viz. New Delhi, Jammu Tawi, Gorakhpur, Bombay, Calcutta, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Madras, Ahmedabad, Indore, Trichy, Mangalore, Trivandrum and Varanasi.
UPDATE :As track doubling is going on in the Shoranur-Calicut section, trains might be delayed or even cancelled.
Hence for participants coming by train, a bus service will be arranged from Thrissur(TCR) to NIT Calicut. Advance
booking must be done for the same, preferably before 13th October. For more details contact the Hospitality Manager,

Buses are available to Calicut from all major cities in South India, both state-run as well as private providers.
You can reach NIT Calicut by taxi from the Kozhikode (Calicut) bus station (KSRTC or private bus station) and the taxi fare is approximately Rs. 550/-. The corresponding autorikshawfare is approximately Rs. 400/- .
You can reach NIT Calicut by bus from either the KSRTC or Palayam bus station either of which can be reached from the railway station via autorickshaw(Fare:Rs.15/-). From the station, take a bus to NIT Calicut (buses with destinationMukkam, Areekkode, etc. that travel via Kunnamangalam) and get down at NIT Calicut bus stop.
For the convenience of participants, a bus service will be provided from Calicut to NIT Calicut and back,
at odd times.
